ZMS Cables manufactures a variety of cables with high temperature low sag conductor materials - HTLS conductors.
These include ACSS and ACSS/TW, G(Z)TACSR, Invar conductor types, ACCR, ACCC conductors, etc.
1 Low conductor arc sag at high temperatures, high return temperature, and low resistance.
2 No or only minor adjustments to steel tower structures or line corridors are required to replace conventional conductors.
3 Significantly increases the load capacity of the transmission line.
4 Application of increased transmission capacity when considering conductor strength loss (thermal limiting) and exceeding clearance limits (gap limiting), and conductor temperature is limited to a certain temperature.
Today's increased demand for electricity, the increasing difficulty of erecting the line corridors required for new overhead lines, and the rapid rise of renewable energy generation create an urgent need for transmission upgrades and transmission expansion.
High temperature low sag conductors (HTLS cable ) are a new technology for upgrading transmission lines with increased thermal ratings to improve transmission capacity.
HTLS conductors can operate at high temperatures above 100°C for long periods of time without significant degradation in tensile strength or other mechanical, electrical, or chemical properties.
The tensile length at the same temperature is significantly lower than that of conventional aluminum or steel core aluminum conductors.
ACSS conductor and ACSS/TW - steel supported/trapezoidal wire with the aluminum conductor, ACSS/TW, trapezoidal or steel core soft aluminum stranded wire.
Annealed aluminum stranded wire + conventional steel core, working temperature up to 250°C.
G(Z)TACSR--Gap-type steel core heat resistant aluminum alloy conductor
Gap-type steel core heat resistant aluminum alloy stranded wire with an operating temperature of up to 150℃.
Invar Conductor-(Z)TACIR-ZTA1(Extra heat-resistant)
Invar steel reinforced aluminum alloy conductor, 210℃.
ACCR--Aluminum Conductor Composite Reinforced
Aluminum base ceramic fiber core aluminum stranded wire, continuous working temperature 210℃, short time 240℃.
ACCC--Aluminum Conductor Composite Core
Carbon fiber core soft aluminum stranded wire, continuous operating temperature 180℃.
It is composed of concentrically stranded composite conductors
Construction
ACSS conductor cable is composed of concentrically stranded composite conductors.
It consists of a galvanized steel stranded core and one or more layers of annealed cargo soft 1350-0 aluminum with a grade A galvanized steel core.
The annealed or softened aluminum carries most or all of the mechanical load of the conductor because it provides high strength as required.
Standard
Q320623 ap 32, IEC 61089, IEC 62219, ASTM B609, ASTM B851, ASTM B856, ASTM B857
Technical Characteristics
ACSS is commonly used for overhead transmission and distribution lines.
It can work continuously at temperatures up to 250°C without losing its strength.
Under electrical loads, ACSS has a lower sag strength than comparable ACSR.
It can be self damping if pre-stretched during installation and its final sag is not affected by the long-term creep conditions of aluminum.
These advantages make ACSS particularly useful in heavy conductivity applications where an increased current is required.
Tips
1. Ambient temperature 40℃, wind speed 0.5m/s, wind direction 0 degree, solar radiation 0.1w/cm2, absorption rate of conductor surface 0.9.
2. One-stop sales service and design according to other requirements of customers.
3. We can also design according to ASTM B856 and ASTM B857 standards.
It is composed of layers of thermal-resistant aluminum alloy wires around a high strength steel core.
The GAP-type conductor consists of a heat resistant aluminum alloy wire layer around a high strength steel core.
Grease is filled in the gaps, allowing the steel core to move freely, which gives the conductor its special characteristics.
Standard
Q 320623 ap 35, IEC 61089, IEC 62420, IEC 62219
Technical Features
Capacity expansion characteristics
The capacity of GAP type conductor at 150°C is 1.6 times that of ACSR at 90°C for the same area.
The capacity of GAP type conductor at 210°C is twice that of ACSR of the same area.
The capacity at 210°C is twice that of the ACSR of the same area at 90°C.
Sag Characteristics
Limits the increase in sag with temperature by stress transfer above the knee point. Limits the increase in sag by stress transfer above the knee point.
It has a gap between the ultra-high strength galvanized steel core and the internal trapezoidal heat-resistant aluminum-zirconium alloy layer, allowing the wire tension to be carried entirely by the steel core.
The G(Z)TACSR conductor is complex and laborious to install.
It requires the removal of the aluminum wire at each termination and connection to expose the steel core.
Adding a small amount of Zr raises the recrystallization temperature of aluminum, greatly improving the load capacity and annealing characteristics.
The aluminum wire can be run continuously at 210°C without any reduction in tensile strength.
It is a new type of overhead conductor.
The use of ladder wire increases the cross-sectional area of the conductor, thus giving the conductor the effect of increasing its conductivity.
STACIR/AW conductors have better current carrying capacity than conventional conductors of the same size.
Meanwhile, INVAR conductors are composed of an aluminum-clad INVAR core and heat-resistant aluminum alloy wire.
This conductor is suitable for retrofitting old wires, and it can increase capacity while maintaining the same sag.
The main aspect of this type of conductor is the possibility of sliding between the outer layer and the core.
Steel and aluminum are independent, so at high temperatures, the outer layer may rest on the steel core.
The outer conductive layer is made of a super heat resistant Al-Zr alloy and can reach an operating temperature of 210°C.
The main features of this series are
1 INVAR steel core and outer layers have independent knee points at installation temperature, limiting sagging at elevated temperatures.
2 The coefficient of thermal expansion above the knee point associated with the INVAR core maintains the mechanical strength of the conductor at continuous operating temperatures up to 210°C.
3 This technology requires a skilled installation specialist stage.
It is suitable for ACSR overhead line replacement on flat ground or where there are small horizontal differences.
It is a new type of overhead power transmission line.
ACCC Carbon fiber composite core wire is a new type of overhead transmission line conductor with light weight, good tensile and thermal stability, strong current carrying capacity per unit area, and outstanding corrosion resistance.
It has good application prospects in future power grid transmission lines and will replace the traditional ACSR, ACSR/AW, AACSR, etc.
Features and Advantage
The ZMS wire also has some important features and advantages over the conventional ordinary concentric steel core aluminum stranded wire ACSR or ACSS.
1 The wire can operate continuously at 175°C without failure and at 200°. It can remain at temperature for a very short time.
2 The wire has a lower coefficient of thermal expansion than conventional steel-core aluminum stranded wire ACSR or ACSS.
Therefore, the central reinforced core has better line sag when operating at high temperatures.
3 The wire is virtually unaffected by the long-term creep of the outer aluminum wire.
4 When the area of the aluminum wire is increased, the weight per unit length of the wire is still lighter than that of conventional steel-core aluminum stranded wire ACSR or ACSS.
5 The line is constructed with annealed aluminum wire stranded at the periphery of the reinforcement core, giving it self-damping properties, thus making the line vibration-proof without the need for anti-vibration hammers and other vibration damping devices.
6 Eliminates corrosion between current galvanized or 5% zinc aluminum rare earth cerium alloy steel core aluminum stranded wires.
ACCR consists of an AT3 aluminum-zirconium alloy with an Al2O3 ceramic extremely reinforced aluminum-based composite core wire.
The aluminum-based composite core wire is similar in strength to steel while similar in mass to aluminum, which results in a lighter wire with better electrical conductivity.
Aluminum-based composite core wires have a high modulus of elasticity and a low thermal elongation (1/2 that of steel).
ACCR conductors are primarily used to replace older conductors with severe ice and minimal high temperature low trap gaps.
