Overhead cables, also known as overhead wires, are generally mostly bundled conductors, and aluminum electrical wires.
They are typically used in locations where long-distance coverage is required and where underground cables are not suitable.
And the distance to be covered as well as the environmental conditions the cable will face and the location are all factors in choosing the right suitable overhead power transmission lines.
ZMS ABC (Aerial Bundled Conductor) overhead cable has excellent electrical properties, high short circuit resistance, long service life, lightweight, and easy installation, operation, and maintenance.
ABC overhead cables are widely used in most parts of the world.
The type of Aerial Cable Wire is Aerial Bundled Cable, which is different from Aerial Bare Conductor Cable.
Bare cable has no insulation sheath, etc. It is insulated with air and is suitable for medium and high voltage power transmission.
ABC cable is insulated, it has an insulating layer or sheathing device.
It is wrapped around the neutral conductor and tightly bound together.
It is typically used for medium- and low-voltage power transmission.
Other major classifications of overhead conductors are AAC (all aluminum conductor), AAAC (all aluminum alloy conductor), or ACSR (steel-reinforced aluminum conductor).

ABC cable
Aerial Bunch cable, which is widely used in less developed areas abroad, includes 1 core, 2 core, 3 core, 4 core: Covered line wire, Duplex service drop, Triplex service drop, and Quadruplex service drop.
They also include all insulated cores, two insulated cores plus one bare conductor, three insulated cores plus one bare conductor, pure aluminum or pure aluminum and aluminum alloy mixed stranded, etc.
The cable is suitable for overhead power lines with a rated voltage 0.6/1kV and below and can be used as fixed laying or lead-in line, and also for low-voltage cable distribution.
Conductor: Aluminum conductor, round stranded compression type (rm).
Insulation: XLPE compound, UV-protected.
Core: 1, 2, or 3 raised longitudinal ribs on the surface.
For cores up to 50 mm2 in cross section, the neutral core should have at least 12 ribs on the surface.
For cores exceeding 50 mm2, a minimum of 16 ribs.
In the case of five-core bundles, the surface of the protective core should be smooth.
At present, our company can produce according to British and French standards, American and IEC standards.
Weather-resistant insulation materials are used, and the cores of the carrying wires are high-strength aluminum alloy wires or steel-core aluminum stranded wire cores.
The maximum strength of a single wire reaches 340MPa, which can fully meet the higher export requirements.
The coils are all fumigated, with authoritative test reports, exported to many countries, and have a good reputation.
There are many types of ABC overhead cables, and the following is a brief introduction to several ABC cable sizes.
6.5-35KV Medium Voltage ABC Cable
Medium voltage ABC overhead cables are widely used for overhead power transmission in cities, forests, and coastal areas for grid retrofitting.
Among them, 11kvABC cable is most commonly used in many rural areas.
ZMS' medium voltage ABC cables are designed to create a more reliable, efficient, and economical cable system.
Our quality and technical specifications have been evaluated to ensure that our cable systems are adapted to your distribution network standards.

Duplex / Triplex Service Drop Wire
Twisted pair wire, whose main component is 1350-H19 aluminum, with concentrically stranded phase wires and PVC or XLPE for insulation.
The neutral core is made of concentrically stranded AAC, ACSR, or 6201 aluminum alloy.
It is mainly used for 120V overhead service applications.
Such as street lighting, outdoor lighting, and building temporary services.
The voltage between phases is 600V and below.
Conductor temperature does not exceed 75°C for PVC insulated conductors and 90°C for XLPE insulated conductors.
Conductor: Aluminum, Aluminum Alloy
Insulation: PVC, XLPE
Standard: ASTM B230, B231, B232 and B-399, B498, ICEA S-76-474
1. The rated voltage of the overhead bundled cable is 0.6/1KV, 10KV, and 35KV respectively.
2. The cable laying temperature should be no less than -20℃, and no more than 5S for short-circuit operation.
3. Cable high temperature: 250℃ for cross-linked polyethylene insulation, 150℃ for HDPE SK insulation, and 160℃ for PVC insulation.
4. The long-term allowable working temperature of the cable conductor should not exceed 70℃ for PVC insulation, 70℃ for PE, and 90℃ for cross-linked PE insulation.
5. Cable bending radius: single-core should be not less than 15 times the outer diameter of the cable, and multi-core should be not less than 10 times the outer diameter of the cable.
1. Relatively unaffected by short circuits caused by external forces, such as high winds, and falling tree branches, unless they scratch the insulation layer.
2. Can be installed close to trees or buildings, and will not generate sparks when touched.
3. Easier installation, no need for crossbars and insulators. It is also easy to install the hanging wire, less labor intensive, and requires fewer construction resources.
4. Significantly improves the safety of workers working on live conductors.
What is the purpose of bundled conductors?
The purpose of bundled conductors is designed so that the reactance of the transmission line can be reduced.
And it also reduces the voltage gradient, corona loss, radio interference, and surge impedance of the transmission line.
By making bundled conductors, the geometric mean radius (GMR) is.
