Construction
Cathodic Protection Cable (CPC or CP cable), on most occasions, is a stranded conductor with HMWPE insulation(High Molecular Weight Polyethylene).
CU/ECTFE/ HMWPE or CU/PVDF/ HMWPE
But for better protection against corrosive gases and brackish water, it is a stranded conductor insulated with a Halar (ECTFE--- Ethylene-chlorotrifluoroethylene copolymer) or Kynar (PVDF--Polyvinylidene Fluoride), and sheathed with HMWPE.
Application
CPC or CP Cable is used in cathodic protection systems as direct earth burial DC feeder cable to prevent the electrolytic as well as galvanic corrosion of metallic objects, for example, wells, pipelines, storage tanks, and ocean vessels that are submerged or buried in underwater.
Features
CPC or CP Cable is excellent resistance to chemical, oil, sunlight, crush, and moisture abrasion.
